Former KPMC Executive Settles Peregrine Charges for $80K

Larry A. Rodda, once the managing director of KPMG Consulting LLC, accepted an enforcement action filed against him by the Securities and Exchange Commission on February 6, agreeing to pay $80,000 as a penalty in his corporate accounting fraud case.

Rodda did not admit or deny the SEC's 2004 charges that as a KPMG director he aided and abetted the financial fraud perpetrated by officers of Peregrine Systems, the San Diego-based software company later acquired by Hewlett-Packard Co.

In late January 2008, Rodda was given a six-month prison term in the criminal case against him regarding the same conduct. Rodda had signed bogus software license agreements that allowed Peregrine to falsely record some $22 million in revenue.
